Norma Schmit, 101-years-old of Seminole Florida passed away peacefully at home on June 8 2025, having lived a long happy life.
Norma was born in Charleston, West Virginia to Emile and Gennie Michaux and grew up in Chicago IL with her parents and older siblings Irene and Marguerite.
Norma married John Schmit in 1949 and raised four children in Brookfield IL. Norma moved to Largo FL with her husband in 1983 and belonged to St. Justin Martyr Catholic church.
Norma loved to ballroom dance. She enjoyed classic movies, loved to travel and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband John and her sisters Marguerite and Irene.
She is survived by her children Gregory Schmit, Michael Schmit, Nancy Phillips (and her husband, Patrick), and Roger Schmit. Also her grandchildren Carolyn Phillips-Marshall (and her husband, Robert) and Patrick Phillips (and his wife, Gina), and great grandchildren Riley Marshall, Haley Marshall, Evvy Marshall, and Charles Phillips.
