Bernan G. Redovan, 52, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 1, 2025, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
He was born on February 7, 1973, in Pasay City, Philippines, to Asuncion and the late Nepo Redovan. Bernan graduated from Malate Catholic School in Manila and briefly attended Asian Institute of Maritime Studies in Pasay City, Philippines, before migrating to Chicago, Illinois, with his family in March of 1991.
He is survived and greatly missed by his loving wife, Monica, and his children, Angelica and Erin. Bernan will forever be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and loyal son and brother to siblings: Arnold (Riza), Paula (Jim), JR, and Camia (Dean).
Bernan began his career in 1991 at the Hyatt Regency Oakbrook and later transferred to the Hyatt Lodge in Oakbrook, where he spent the remainder of his career. Over the past 34 years, he has become a beloved and trusted employee, dedicating himself to professionalism and hospitality to everyone he encountered at the hotel.
When he wasn’t busy at the hotel, during his time off, he enjoyed playing golf regularly with both his brother-in-laws and his golf association, the Brotherhood Golf Foundation Inc., as well as basketball with family and friends.
Bernan will be forever remembered as a fun-loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He had an infectious laugh and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Whether offering a listening ear, lending a helping hand, or simply brightening a room with warmth and humor, Bernan brought comfort and joy all around him.
