Adeline Sigler

Adeline Sigler nee Benak, age 100, beloved wife of the late Frank Sigler, dear mother of Linda (late Bill) Johnson, Patty (Tim) Rezac, and Betsy (Phil) Kolar.

Also a dear grandmother of Bill (Kim), Steve (Krista), Rick (Wendy), Susan (Mike), Mike, Karen (Fred), Cheryl (Mike) and Becky (Mark), great-grandmother of Joshua, Brittney, Sam, Jesse, Tyler, Mark, Jamie, Nathan, Jenna, Emma, Molly, Erick, and Meghan, and great-great- grandmother of Joyce, and sister of her late siblings George, Charlie, and Gladys.

As a child of God, she was joyful and confident that all of her children and their families have trusted Jesus as their Savior. Adeline was a good friend and neighbor in Stickney where she was born, to California where Sergeant Frank Sigler served in the Military Police during WWII, then to Chicago where they raised the family, to LaGrange and Downers Grove to retire and Brookfield where she rested.

She was a “Rosie the Riveter” while in California then held various part-time jobs as a solderer at a pinball factory where her brother worked and later at Sunbeam. Then she worked at the Marshall Fields store in downtown Chicago during the Christmas season wrapping gifts, and later at “Plaid Land” redemption store in Cicero as a floor clerk.

She enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, feeding the birds, sewing outfits for her girls, baking and wallpapering every room in the house. Being highly organized she used the envelope system for their finances and being very exacting she marked the middle of the top sheet and the middle of the bed so everything would be even. As a family we took many long road trips and she rode shotgun with the map.

We will all miss you, but we take comfort knowing we will be perfectly reunited again one day in heaven.
